Marine Mammal Discovery

Elephant Seal

The estero is closed to kayaking at this time, and hiking in at low tides allows us access into a world otherwise unseen. On this hike we will view harbor seal pups learning their way in the world. In March and April, the young pups vary in size, spread along the sand. The normally quiet harbor seals grunt and snort in the sun. April through June, the activity levels increase and you can watch them learn to swim and play. Share in this intimate experience with our guides as we explore the breeding behavior and conservation of California's marine mammals. Take in breathtaking coastal vistas as we observe the whales, seals, birds, and coastal habitats.

We hope this magical day will allow you to relax and enjoy the bounties of Mother Nature.
