Our Guides and Instructors
Point Reyes Outdoors takes pride in the quality and skill level of our guides. Impeccably trained, they bring a wealth of knowledge and proficiency to every tour and class. Our guides are coaches, nurses, science teachers, General Contractors, Wilderness Instructors, EMTs, wildlife biologists, and ropes course instructors with a passion for adventure and expertise in group facilitation, natural history, ACA and BCU kayak instruction, wilderness first aid, and an unparalleled knowledge of the waterways we paddle. Our guides are ready to provide you with a comfortable, safe, and exhilarating experience.

Our Instruction Style
The American Canoe Association (ACA) and the British Canoe Union (BCU) have each developed an extensive program for sea kayak instruction. PRO's unique curriculum provides a combination of both ACA and BCU styles, offering a wide variety of techniques.

All our classes and clinics utilize aspects of both programs. You will receive some of the best instruction on the west coast. Private instruction and highly qualified instructors provide you with individualized attention that maximizes your learning opportunity.
